Tracy’s Hot Mail – T. A. Belshaw
Tracy’s Hot Mail
T. A. Belshaw
Tracy is the new girl in the office. A sassy nineteen year old with an eye for cloned fashion and an ear for the latest gossip, she reveals all in a series of emails written to her friend, Emma. Tracy doesn’t spare anyone’s blushes as she dishes the dirt on her friends, family, and foes. If something is worth hearing, it is worth telling…
Everyone gets the Tracy Treatment, her benefit-fiddling father, her porn obsessed boyfriend, even her pocket billiards champion boss. Not forgetting the serial bum pincher and his latest conquest, the office tart.
Behind Tracy’s wide eyed innocence and reassuring smile lies a muck spreader of the highest calibre.
No secret is safe.
If you opened a colleague’s email by accident, would you read it? Especially if it was of the juicy gossip variety?
This is exactly what you’d be doing if you read the book Tracy’s Hot Mail.
Opening with a ‘Dear Emma’, we are immediately thrown into the world of Tracy, her new office job, and her hilarious observations of her new colleagues. Then there’s all the gossip about her long-suffering boyfriend, her housing situation and the driving lessons she has recently taken on with Mister Touchy-Feely instructor.
I loved this book. I loved that it was short. I loved that each email catapulted me into the on-goings of Tracy’s life, without having to hear any replies from Emma. I gathered a very clear picture of the slimy boss, the tarty colleague, and the pat-on-the-knee driving instructor. Hilariously written, there are a few deadpan comments that left me smiling to myself. I can’t fault this book – fast paced, short comedy chunks, this made for perfect lunchtime reading. My only ‘complaint’ is that I’d have liked it to be longer! Looking forward to reading the sequel!

This book is a must read, it gives a brilliant look into Tracey’s life in a really unique way. We all like seeing how others live – look at the soaps for instance – Tracey’s Hotmail has the same affect in a book. I loved it!
