Judging Covers was started by a group of book-obsessed women in January 2011, as a community for chatting about our latest reads. We provide reviews of as many books as we can get our hands on – so if you’re not sure what to read next, or wondering whether that new release is worth your money, just check our Book Reviews for an honest opinion.

Our writers all have different tastes, so we cover a variety of genres and authors. Don’t agree with our review? Say so! We love a good debate, and every review has a comments section where you can leave your own thoughts on the books you’ve read.

Review policy

We are happy for PR companies or publishers to send us copies of books to review, but this will never affect the honesty or integrity of our opinions. If a review copy has been provided, this will always be stated within the post, and we will always be truthful in our reviews – so if we say we love something, we really mean it.

Each book is given a star rating:

★★★★★ : Fantastic! Loved every word.
★★★★★ : A great read, with a few flaws.
★★★★★ : Fine. OK. Average.
★★★★★ : Not the most enjoyable read, but some positives.
★★★★★ : Really not our cup of tea.

We will always strive to keep advertising at a minimum to avoid spoiling your time at Judging Covers. We are not paid for reviews, ever, and never will be. However, we do use some affiliate or sponsored linking – which means we may receive a small fee in exchange for links to relevant information or products. These links have no impact on the integrity of our reviews.

In order to cover rising hosting costs, we now offer the opportunity to purchase ad space in our sidebar. Again, these do not  impact our reviews or opinions; they simply advertise books or websites that may be of interest to our readers.
